Welcome to the Mariners PTA!

We are so excited that you are here at Mariners Elementary this year.  We just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you briefly just some of the programs that PTA is able to provide and how you can help.  

 

PTA Funded Events & Support

  • Artist Lab– a new school wide art program introducing students to different mediums
  • Art at Lunch – a once a month lunchtime art class that all students can attend
  • Giving Tree– a Christmas tree designed to give back to those families in need in our community
  • Staff Positions– PTA fully funds an aide for the classroom and provides a stipend for the music department with Pacific Chorale
  • Classroom “Above & Beyond” Fund– when the teachers go above and beyond to provide supplies, resources, etc. in the classroom, PTA helps to offset that cost
  • Boo Fest – we organize and host this annual fall family event
  • Book Fair– we organize and supervise this fall fair 
  • Good Choices Week – an entire week of activities in winter geared towards helping students make good choices 
  • Jogathon – our largest fundraiser in the spring and a fun event for all
  • Yearbook– we design, organize and distribute the yearbook each year 

Ways You Can Help

  • Become a Member– Only $11 a person and anyone can join – over 50% of that amount goes right back into the school – membership is available online
  • Attend a PTA Meeting– meetings are the 4thWed of every month at 8:45am– learn about what events are going on at the school, how PTA money is being spent and hear Mr. B (the principal) speak – FIRST MEETING WED, SEPT 25TH 8:45am, PFT
  • Make a donation – PTA is entirely funded through donations – anything you donate goes directly back into the school
  • Volunteer at an event– PTA events like Boo Fest and the Book Fair are 100% run by parent volunteers – contact Charlene Foell if interested in getting involved
